Our adaptive activities were designed to extend the learning by doing method central to the Doer Effect incorporated in our courseware. The Acrobatiq platform includes adaptivity in the form of personalized, scaffolded activities. To do this, the platform gathers data as students move through the lessons and do practice (learn by doing), generates predictive learning estimates, and adapts the activities to provide the optimal level of question scaffolding for each student.
Our research on these adaptive activities has focused on their effectiveness for student learning, and design best practices.
